Walk-in Closet and Laundry

I’m loving this cute ironing board. What a great way to slide it into the hanging clothes instead of using up valuable wall space. Love it!

I also love this closet. I like the white. It is so fresh and bright. Instead of the cabinet doors on the top, I’d just have open storage. Great storage space for Luggage, linens, winter bedding, etc. Stuff you don’t want to store in the basement.

I haven’t found many inspiration images for master closet with laundry. It makes perfect sense in my mind but it must not be the thing. If you know of any good images of laundry-master closet rooms, leave me a comment!

Do you have information on the ironing board? I am starting on my master closet redo and this is great.

No, I’m afraid I don’t. That image was from better homes and gardens. I’d try rev-a-shelf. They have tons of cabinet accessories.

Where can I find the iron show in this closet? I have hunted everywhere!

Another great wall art idea

I just a new Wisteria e-mail and I’m loving the pressed ferns. What an easy and fun way to add some great color.

I’ll have to plan a nice hike with Stefan to collect some specimens.

Closet Design and Planning

On the second floor of the house, there is a good sized bedroom which will be the master.  To the left is a bathroom and to the left of the bathroom is another smaller bedroom.  The plan is to make the bathroom into a half bath and a full master bath with jack and jill pocket doors to the master bedroom and this smaller bedroom which will become my Closet and Laundry room!  It’s going to be awesome!  I’ve started thinking about how to do the closet and I have tons of ideas.

Something like this is quite obtainable though I think it needs some decorative molding at the top to really finish it off. I love the shelves for the shoes.  I’m not a big fan of standard shoe-shelves with the angle, they aren’t good for sandals which are obviously a shoe staple!

Similar to this one, my mother’s closet has a shelf all the way around the top of the room and it is fabulous. She says it is the best feature of the house. All the luggage, off season comforters, blankets, extra pillows, all stay dust-free, dry. Another great feature is a peninsula of hanging clothes. It juts out into the room with a full-size mirror on the end. 4 feet long and about 3 feet wide it houses approximately 16 feet of hanging storage. That’s amazing!

There are a few other things I’m looking into. One is a pant hanger. Stefan (my husband!) has a tendency to just drape his pants around instead of putting them up on hangers. I was thinking that perhaps something like this to feed into that habit and make it productive would be a good option.

Since this is going to be a laundry room and master closet, I’ve gathered inspiration on functional laundry rooms as well. After reading steam generator iron reviews I decided that’s the iron I need for my laundry room.

This image spoke to me with the drying space for hanging clothes mimicking my plan for a joint laundry/closet. I love the shelves just the right size for laundry baskets and the stripes on the wall break up the built-ins well. I’m thinking perhaps a tone-on-tone stencil or stripe would be a great option for any exposed walls in the closet. Something to make it romantic enough to be a part of the master suite.

I need to get a scale-sketch done this weekend and start thinking about how to design/make/buy this dream closet, not only that but I also need to start getting in contact with interior designers Hertfordshire to help me plan other areas of my home

And finally…the living room is decorated

Living Room

What was once an ugly, boring, college pad is now decorated and homey.  Some super simple curtains, hemmed and tied to the blinds make the windows stand out.  Pillows add some fun colors to the boring brown couch.  Neat decorative touches like the cool train lamp and some good coffee table books and we are well on our way to living like grown-ups instead of college students.  Now if I could just convince the boys not to leave cables and computers all over the place, we’d be set!

If уоu’vе juѕt ѕtаrtеd thіnkіng about dесоrаtіng your hоuѕе, аnd first on thе list іѕ your living room, уоu mіght bе overwhelmed wіth рuttіng аll thе ріесеѕ tоgеthеr tо mаkе a hаrmоnіоuѕ аnd арреаlіng whоlе. Yоu hаvе tо соnѕіdеr раіnt соlоrѕ for thе wаllѕ, whаt kind of furnіturе you аlrеаdу hаvе аnd whаt you need, and how tо аrrаngе аnd accessorize it. But the fіrѕt thіng tо fіgurе оut аbоut yourself іѕ what уоur decorating ѕtуlе is. Lооkіng аt рhоtоѕ оf lіvіng rооmѕ hеlрѕ уоu dо thаt. Knowing thіѕ gіvеѕ уоu ѕіgnаlѕ along the dесоr road to hеlр guіdе your decisions оn furnіturе, раіnt соlоrѕ, wіndоw соvеrіngѕ, flооr соvеrіng and ассеѕѕоrіеѕ.

Furnіturе

A соmmоn problem реорlе have іѕ not knоwіng hоw tо аrrаngе thеіr lіvіng room furniture. More often than not реорlе push a sofa аgаіnѕt оnе wall, a соuрlе of сhаіrѕ against аnоthеr аnd thаt’ѕ іt. But аrrаngіng furnіturе is ѕоmеthіng thаt requires a lіttlе more planning. There are іmроrtаnt considerations like choosing a focal роіnt, creating соnvеrѕаtіоn areas, and соnѕіdеrіng traffic flow, not to mention the type of furniture you choose, I always recommend getting living room furniture in rosenberg tx, they have mt favorite pieces.

Art

Emрtу wаllѕ аrе a ѕіgn of аn іnсоmрlеtе rооm. Thіѕ dоеѕn’t mеаn уоu nееd to fill every inch, but decorating thе wаllѕ with аrt іѕ іmроrtаnt. It’s іmроrtаnt, but іt does nоt need to bе еxреnѕіvе to create an еntісіng аnd соhеѕіvе lооk. Whаt one реrѕоn соnѕіdеrѕ аrt might bе drаѕtісаllу different frоm what someone еlѕе thinks. Thе bеѕt thіng tо dо іѕ tо fоllоw your іnѕtіnсtѕ whеn іt comes to what уоu lіkе аnd whаt will gо іn уоur rооm. Gеt informed on thе basic rules of what tо hаng аnd hоw tо arrange іt, аnd then lеt уоur heart bе уоur guіdе.
