Master Bathroom
The master bathroom is very, very close to finished! I still need my heated floor hooked up but otherwise, it’s done!
The glass guys installed the shower enclosure and we put in the shower head and knobs (check out frameless shower doors). It looks fabulous! You should definitely try to do some bathroom renovations to make your bathroom look brand new!

Downton Abbey Finds: Season 2 Episode 5
If you haven’t heard, the 4th season ran from mid September to mid November. It will be airing on PBS in the US starting on January 5, 2014. I must say, the roaring 20s are awesome for period cinema. The costumes are beautiful, the drama is scandalous, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it so I can dish on all the details! Here’s a trailer for season 4 to get you excited about it!
Back to season 2 episode 5. Matthew and William come back from the war. Matthew is paralyzed, William marries Daisy on his deathbed. It’s a tear-jerker episode to be sure.
Mary enlists the aid of Sir Richard to stop her story from coming out and she agrees to marry him with a shake of her beautifully gloved hand. Look at how tiny her hands are and I love those gloves. They fit perfectly which mine never do – I have dangerously long fingers.
Mrs. Hughes sneaks food to the former maid Ethel and her illigitimate boy and has an adorable scarf on under her coat. I love the way she is wearing the scarf with just a bit of the pattern showing. Mrs. Hughes has more fashion sense than she lets herself believe. I’m always finding something of hers that is downright lovely.
and finally, perhaps my most favorite thing to ever discover in Downton Abbey, this card catalog built into the library. Swoon!
It’s actually full of card catalog cards! I remember those days with the cards. It kind of makes me sad that my children will never have to learn to use a card catalog but at the same time, I’m glad I’ll never actually have to use one myself!
I hope we get to see more library details in the future. They are almost always my favorite!

Downton Abbey Finds: Season 2 Episode 4
I just have one image for you this time. As I’m going back and watching Downton Abbey, I’m seeing the repetition of costumes that one doesn’t notice unless you’re really looking for it. It’s much more realistic to see them wearing the same handful of dresses over and over but it’s not what you expect from modern cinema. I find it quite refreshing.
One accessory that caught my eye was Lady Mary’s belt.
I can’t say I’m a fan of the blouse but I love the silver belt buckle with the skirt. Very wear-able today over a dress or a long tunic blouse. I’ve got to keep my eyes peeled for one of those beautiful buckles at an estate sale.

Easel
I made an easel. I wanted to work some more on my painting for art class but my lack of an easel made things difficult. I assembled this from 5 pieces of common-board (pine with some knots). 3 pieces of 3″x1″x6′ and 2 of 2″x1″x6′ as well as some additional scraps, nuts, washer, and bolts.
I’m not including plans per say but here are a bunch of pictures to give you an idea of just how simple it was to put together a lyre easel.
Easels are so expensive but I was able to put this one together with just a chop saw, drill, about an hour of time, and less than $30.
